Mermaid Quay

Cardiff City Centre
Cardiff city centre can offer a huge variety of shopping, including the high street, Victorian and Edwardian arcades, and modern shopping centres including Capitol, Queens and St David's. Queen Street is Cardiff's main shopping street and is home to many big high street names. Traversing east to west, Queen Street runs from Cardiff Castle, down towards Newport road. Cardiff's city centre is bisected by arcades, some dating back to Edwardian times. In these arcades you'll find smaller independent stores, selling everything include vintage clothes, designer brands, jewelry, welsh gifts, home wares, cheeses, fancy dress, comics, health foods and herbal remedies. Out of Town
Cardiff has a number of out of town retail parks including Cardiff Gate, Ty Glas, Capital Retail Park at Leckwith and Cardiff Bay Retail Park. Here you'll find big name stores such as B&Q, Brantano, Argos, Next, Marks & Spencer, Boots and JJB Sports.
Castle Arcade
The Castle arcade, as the name suggests, runs from opposite Cardiff Castle to High Street, north of St Mary St. Home to a variety of small boutique shops as well as cafes and delicatessens, Castle Arcade dates back to 1887. Here you'll find an array of edible goodies at Madame Fromage, including specialty cheeses, breads and pastas. Keep your eco conscience clean by popping into Oyster, where you'll find fair-trade and organic clothing.
High Street Arcade
Dating back to 1886, High Street Arcade runs from Saint John Street to High Street. High Street arcade has one of the best choices of boutique fashion stores which include designer clothes, quirky and individual fashions, jewelry and vintage clothes. You'll also find children's clothes and toys, gifts and Cardiff's New York Deli. Perfect for a reviving bagel or hoagie.
Royal Arcade
The oldest of Cardiff's arcades, dating back to 1858 the Royal Arcade is situated in towards the south of the city centre, adjacent to the New St David's 2 development. Running from the Hayes, through to St Marys Street. Here you'll find independent shops such as Wally's Delicatessen, who have been in the arcade for 60 years and Melin Tregwynt who sell Welsh-made blankets, throws and cushions. Duke Street Arcade
Duke Street Arcade joins High Street arcade, and is just opposite Cardiff Castle. Here you'll find a range of interesting stores including hairdressers, bridal shops and Welsh gift shops.
Morgan Arcade
Morgan Arcade from 1896 is the best preserved of Cardiff's arcades, with some first-floor Venetian windows and original slender wooden storefronts. Taking you from the Hayes, through to St Mary Street, you can rest you weary feet with lunch or a coffee at The Plan, which specializes in organic and Fair Trade food. Neals yard, next door, sells organic herbal skin care and body care products.
